Bound to Funk & Soul

Mike is a thoroughbred German musician who has been performing live music of all kinds of genres from Blues, Soul, Funk, Country, Bluegrass, Rock&Roll, Rock, Folk to Americana ... for more than 40 years now. He started strumming around on his dad's old archtop guitar (an original 60s Hopf) when he was a young boy and he fell in love with the sound of the guitar immediately. It didn't take long until the blues got him. Although his favorite instruments are guitars, he also loves to sing, rap, slap the bass, pick the 5 string banjo, strum the ukulele, do some sliding on the lap steel, blow the harp, hit the keys on a synth and rock his lovely cigar box guitar. Beyond that he is really into playing percussion instruments.

Mike runs a home studio (schu-rec-studio) and he has been composing, arranging, recording, mixing, mastering and producing songs for a couple of years now.

Besides creating and recording music in the studio, his passion is WILD WOOD, a German band committed to groovy, handmade funk and bluesy soul. The majority of Mike's songs and releases are performed live by WILD WOOD.
